Plant nodes & tracks

Roasthubs models your physical roastery as a network of equipment. Understanding this model helps you read the plant view and lot tracks.

Plant nodes​

A plant node is a building block of the roastery — a piece of equipment or asset. Each node has:

  • A plant node type (silo, roaster, cooler, scale, valve, button, cell…)
  • A capacity
  • Incoming and outgoing connections
  • A Roasthubs zone it belongs to

A cell is a special plant node with extra inventory behaviour.

Plant edges​

A plant edge is a directed connection between two nodes. It defines the direction coffee can flow — from a source node to a target node.

Together, nodes and edges form a directed graph — that's exactly what you see on the plant map.

Tracks​

A track is the record of a real movement: a lot (or conversion of lots) travelling across a plant edge from a source node to a target node, with a timestamp and weight.

Every track is stored against the lots involved, which is how Roasthubs reconstructs the complete journey of a lot on its detail page.
